- April 15th: Friday Afternoon and Evening (classroom)
- April 16th: Saturday all day (classroom and anemometer setup in the field)
Thorough assessment of your wind resources prior to turbine installation is essential in determining the type, size, and feasibility of harvesting wind power to meet your particular needs. This wind resources assessment workshop will cover various qualitative and quantitative methods for both simple and technical techniques of measuring wind resources at your site. David Blittersdorf, founder of NRG Systems, Inc. and past president of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) will join the SWI for this workshop. Topics of this workshop will include: wind mapping and data analysis, anemometer equipment and installation, visual assessment, wind sheer calculations, and power estimation. Workshop participants will spend the second day fully installing and wiring an NRG 30 meter anemometer system. www.nrgsystems.com Two-day cost: $150 (Student rate: $100) stalled in all 50 States and more than 90 countries. www.bergey.com Two-day cost: $150 (Student rate: $100)
